Bristol Falls is approximately a 20 minute drive.Known for being a fantastic place for swimming, sunbathing on the flat rocks as the water flows by you, bring a tube and float down the little rapids, cliff diving(please be careful),playing in the sand, look for cool rocks in the large pool at the bottom of the falls, and having picnics. If you are a confident swimmer, you can make right up to the falls and walk behind them

kids can play on the sandy shore

If you enjoy a lazy day of just sitting and enjoying the scenery as you pass,we think you would enjoy going tubing down the white river. There  is a place where you rent the tubes, you follow in your vehicle to a parking area and leave your car,hop in their van and go to the starting point.Once you arrive at the end of your journey down the river you end up at a beach and your vehicle. There are many places to stop and eat on the way down the river and a swinging rope. This is such a spectacular time whenever we have friends visit, this is where we all go for a day.

Below is a picture taken mid-March until early April are the snow geese at the Dead Creek Refuge. These geese are in excess of 20,000 and blanket the fields like snow. They also arrive again mid October thru November.Bald eagles were released and breeding right at that very spot. They fly over our property to get to the lake and catch some fish, so next time you stay with us, keep your eyes to the skies! You never know what you will see.

Below you will find a list that ranges from museums & historic sites to teddy bears & restaurants.

Even if this next adventure isnt local,it is a great experience. We highly recommend that ,if you have yime to spare, drive to Pottersville,NY (located by Gore Mtn.) to the Garnet Mines(anhour and half drive). They provide you with all the essentials(pans, shovels, strainers) to help you find as many pieces of this beautiful red gem, you wish to bring home.If your not into digging for gems there is a place where you can rent tubes and float down the Hudson river.
